Source Water Protection in Emmaus

In Emmaus, tap water is affordable and reliable, and is of a high quality that we come to expect here in the Lehigh Valley. Keeping our drinking water clean and safe for human consumption is a community effort that requires all citizens to take part in protection efforts.

In 2009, the EAC and the Borough of Emmaus undertook a project to update the borough's source water protection plan, which includes a scientific delineation of the geographic areas that contribute water to our drinking water system. That is, we are all part of the same watershed, and the activities we all undertake on our properties can have a dramatic effect on the quality of our drinking water!

Please stay tuned to this site for more information about how you can help protect our drinking water. In the meantime, please feel free to read the entire source water protection plan, and contact the EAC if you have questions or want to get involved!
